A Tamil language song composed by Mahakavi C. Subramania Bharathiyar was sung for German audience with some context and translation in German. The event was organised by Antaranandam at Grundschuke Bredenbeck Aula, Wennigsen commemorating 165th year of Rabindranath Tagore. Tagore and Bharathi never met in-person despite being contemporary inspiration on each other's work. 120 years ago, on 9th May 1906, a weekly Tamil magazine named "India" waa established in erstwhile Madras with Bharathiyar as the editor. I was happy to sing his composition on 9th May 2026, celebrating freedom, love, and nature.
